NEXT MOSAIC WORKSHOPS
I am currently offering beginner mosaic workshops at two venues near York, North Yorkshire: in my home studio in Huttons Ambo (£50 per day) and at Howsham Mill, Howsham (£35 per day – subsidised by the Heritage Lottery Fund).

Create a mosaic plaque 22 cm x 22 cm (for indoor display including all materials, refreshments, please bring lunch).
Discover the materials and methods of making mosaics using the direct method while creating your own indoor mosaic. I will show examples of materials, explain the five steps of making a mosaic using the direct method and provide examples of my mosaics for illustration. Tips on suitable designs for mosaics and different mosaic styles will be discussed along with future possible projects. Books and resources, including websites, and sources of materials will be provided for reference.
I provide designs which you may use to create your mosaic or alternatively you may wish to bring along your own design to fit a 22 cm square base.

Huttons Ambo artist’s home studio, near York, North Yorkshire is set in the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking the stunning Yorkshire Wolds.
Howsham Mill, YO60 7PA - This beautiful 18th Century restored watermill featured on 'Restoration Village' and sits along the River Derwent in An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is looked after by the Renewable Energy Trust. Parking is provided by the bridge and the mill is accessed a short walk along the beautiful river bank. http://howshammill.org.uk/
